Can I transfer my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license from NY to CA? Just wondering because I will be going back home to CA at the end of this month and I’m curious if it can transfer right over?

It’a actually called “Reciprocity” or may be called “endorsement” in some states. Most states accept out of state licensure, but a several years ago, there were states who wouldn’t accept licensure from ALL states, just some. It depends on the educational requirements where the license was obtained. Yes, call the CA state board of nursing. I did my reciprocity from MN to WI online, and actually got my license for WI in about 2.5 weeks–that was quick, but I had been on the WI registry in 1992 so they already had info on me.
